As the first in her family to go to college, Rachelle Mendoza chose pre-nursing after caring for her cousin who is legally blind due to undiagnosed diabetes.

Franklin and Mildred Terry – known as Mart and Mil – are the perfect example of an All-American success story. The business they started in a chicken coop with three employees in 1946 became Kent-based Cascade Gasket and Manufacturing Company, employing more than 180 people and making rubber parts for global companies like Boeing.

Christian Ramos-Peña had a false start with college, lost financial aid and at one point was “pawning off everything he could” to pay for tuition while working seven days a week as a line cook.

“As a life-long supporter of education, I have seen first-hand how important the education of women is and how it helps their families and improves their lives.

Over 400 people toured RTC’s new $20 million automotive technology complex May 11. Car collectors showcased their wheels, and everyone enjoyed live music, international cuisine and food truck fare.

The scholarship committee awarded 72 scholarships for the 2017 spring quarter – the highest number for an academic quarter in foundation history!

New state-of-the-art complex puts RTC at the center of new technology and training for the automotive industry.

We are grateful and humbled by the outpouring of support for this year’s Student Success Breakfast. The foundation literally hit new highs with 300 attendees, 27 sponsorships from local businesses and we are on track to hit $80,000 in donations to expand scholarships and emergency grants.
