Renowned New York City Chef Angie Mar wowed guests at the Celebrity Chef Dinner and reception with her luxurious cuisine and signature style, and RTC culinary students had the opportunity to learn from one of the best.
Foundation support was there for Renton Technical College graduate Don Hawkins when he needed it most. "Thanks to RTC and the Foundation, I was able to pay for school when my dad experienced medical problems," Hawkins said. "I always felt welcomed here. It's a community school. I'm indebted to RTC."
Renton Technical College culinary students achieved top honors at this year’s Bite of the Apprentice, earning praises from the celebrity judges and over 600 guests who attended the competition April 8 at the Bell Harbor Conference Center.
It doesn’t take long to discover that Alma Meza and Michele Lesmeister are driven by a lifelong passion for education. Their exceptional teaching and dedication to student success has earned them top recognition. For Alma, the Faculty Award from the Washington State Association of College Trustees and for Michele, the 2018 Ahead of the Class teacher award sponsored by the Renton Chamber of Commerce and Renton School District.
Carl Harris, a student leader and Foundation scholar at Renton Technical College, has been named to the 2018 All-USA Academic Team – one of only 20 students in the country to be recognized for outstanding academic achievement.
